VSA seeks to support our members, through projects and partnerships across the field of informal learning.
VSA is partnering with the Science Museum of Minnesota and the University of Pittsburgh Center for Out of School Learning (UPCLOSE) to look at what the informal science field might learn about impacts, approaches, and findings through its evaluation of ISE projects. Learn more
With the support of a planning grant from the Informal Science Education (ISE) program of the National Science Foundation (NSF), VSA developed these guidelines for competency self- assessment and professional development in Visitor Studies.
VSA and the Association of Science-Technology Centers have teamed up to provide VSA and ASTC members webinars focused on applying research and evaluation findings to various components of science center programs and projects. Learn more
Partnering in the Center for Informal Science Education (CAISE)has been an opportunity for VSA to build closer connections between practitioners and a professional network that is dedicated to the ongoing improvement of the informal learner experience. Though CAISE's focus is on informal science education, much of the professional and project-related work of CAISE will be able to support professionals well beyond informal science. Learn more
